About: The Role

Location: US, Remote 

Hours: 9am-6pm EST. Due to Snappy employees being in Tel Aviv, London and across the US, we schedule all company-wide meetings and events in EST. We do our best to respect and accommodate your personal time, but please know that there will be company-wide meetings and events that will be held in EST.

Compensation: We feel passionately about transparency in compensation. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $120,000-$130,000 with a target bonus up to 10%. 

Snappy is looking for an amazing addition to our rapidly growing team who can help shape the next stage of our inventory management. The Manager of Merchandise Planning will be essential in implementing and monitoring procedures that ensure proper inventory levels across our strategic partners and categories. The role requires strong partnership with both internal stakeholders and our diverse partner base. 

At the heart of everything we do is the Snappy gift recipient experience. It is critical to Snappy’s long-term success that we source desirable products from partners that have strong operational processes in place and are willing to negotiate with us on financial terms. With our business growth, we are looking to protect and forecast strategic skus. Read this as: getting the right products into the hands of gift recipients at the right time, and at the right price. We are looking for a hungry and humble candidate to join our high energy team. You will be reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Curation.

As the Manager of Merchandise Planning, you will:

  • Execute category and key item strategies to optimize sales, margin, & in-stock rates.
  • Analyze current inventory levels, lead times, & dropship demand forecasts to recommend replenishment levels. Collaborate with the Partnerships team to provide forecasts to key suppliers. 
  • Proactively build out processes with stakeholders to monitor key performance indicators and drive corrective action.
  • Create a roadmap for the future of our merchandise planning function. Define what optimal performance looks like in our ever changing and fast growing business.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to build out reporting and category plans.
  • Support initiatives with our Product and Development team to institute & improve Inventory Planning systems, data, and processes.
  • Discover opportunities for continuous development and improvement of our team, methods, interactions, and projects with current and potential Partners.
  • Drive root cause analysis/reporting on operational issues.
  • Monitor shipment and delivery of bulk orders to 3PLs, when strategic opportunities arise. 

About: YOU

You will thrive as the Manager of Merchandise Planning if you are:

  • Backed by 5-7 years of experience as a planner or inventory manager, ideally at an e-commerce marketplace. Management experience required.
  • Well-versed in Excel and have advanced computer skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.). Experience with tableau is a plus.
  • Someone that has demonstrated success in managing SKU-intensive assortments at companies that have a digital presence.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and are able to shift gears based on business needs. Can decide and act without having the total picture. Comfortable handling risk and uncertainty. 
  • Excited by developing new processes and testing new ideas. 
  • Charismatic and persuasive - can inspire the team to propose unique product opportunities at negotiated prices, instill confidence in partners, and build relationships with the broader retail community. An excellent communicator and collaborator.
  • Curious and great at asking questions - Whether speaking with Snappy management, working cross-functionally, or building the business with existing partners, you must be able to ask pertinent questions that get to the core of what we are trying to understand so we can make informed business decisions.
  • Forward-thinking: You can see ahead clearly and can accurately anticipate future consequences and outcomes.
